The Musikverein "Harmonie" Manscheid was founded in 1954 by Dieter Wieland, the rector at the time, after he had said in a pub "What about the children's and meadow festival?" and the idea of the Musikverein was born.

Initially only used for church celebrations, secular festivals soon followed. It became known that there was a young and modern brass band at the foot of the Wildenburg in the Eifel municipality of Hellenthal.

Our repertoire ranges from folk music (e.g. Ernst Mosch, Oberkrainer) to evergreens and modern brass music (e.g. Abba, Udo Jürgens, Bryan Adams). We also enjoy playing church music, marches and carnival music. Preferred performances are concerts in public squares, entertainment music (morning pints) in marquees or outdoors, parades, carnival processions and the organization of carnival meetings.

The music association has been organized in the Euskirchen district association of the NRW Folk Music Association since 1979.

The Musikverein "Harmonie" Manscheid consists of 35 active musicians, five young people have made the leap to the "adults" after training at the private music school "Spiel-Mit" and are now playing an active part.

The musicians are supported by around 80 inactive members.

The highlights of club life include the organization of many club festivals in the Eifel, the carnival, various spa concerts and music evenings in the Eifelhöhenklinik in Marmagen, as well as the traditional Christmas market in Reifferscheid.

Our so-called tower wind players, a small group of brass players, have made a name for themselves at many Christmas markets and traditionally play Advent and Christmas songs on the witches' tower of Wildenburg on the Saturday of the 3rd Advent after the eve mass.
